OnePlus has yet to make the device official in the US

So just a few years ago, recommending an Android phone used to be so easy. If people asked which Android should they get around $700, my default answer would be the latest OnePlus phone. But not anymore. Making such a proposal is no longer as simple as it once was. In fact, I think it’s downright difficult. And there are mainly two reasons for that. A) Samsung, Google and Apple all are already doing affordable flagships with equivalent or better specs for about the same amount of money, So OnePlus no longer have that price advantage going on in their favor. And B) OnePlus is no longer the same company we used to love.

In fact, they have lost a lot of the things that made the company stand out in the Android space. They started making expensive phones, shifted away from the stock Android and merged with Oppo. They no longer provide software updates like they used to before and now they are also making phones with a subpar build quality. Their latest flagship phone, the OnePlus 10 Pro is the best example for that.

In Zack Nelson aka Jerryrigeverything’s durability test, the OnePlus 10 Pro snapped, yeah snapped in half like a buiscuit., Zack do these tests to check the structural integrity of the phone and when he was bending it from the back Multiple cracks appear all over the frosted back of the phone. But when he bent it from the other side, it snaps in half, rendering it absolutely useless.

Of course, no sane person would ever bend their devices like that but the fact that he can easily bend it like that with his bare hands means the chances of the phone breaking in your back pocket or when you accidentally sit on it, seem pretty high. This is certainly not a good look for OnePlus especially after all the negative press they’ve been getting ever since their merger with Oppo.

This reminds me of a famous quote from the Dark Knight movie…All i can say is that OnePlus has not only lost the game but also has started it’s journey downhill and with a pretty fast pace at that. Let me know what do you think down in the comments and as always I’ll see you tomorrow…peace out
